Bach um vier
Bach at four IV
Davit Melkonyan (violoncello und moderation)
Johannes Sebastian Bach’s suites for violoncello solo are among the most played compositions for a solo string instrument of all time. The cellist Pau Casals called it ›the quintessence of Bach’s oeuvre, and Bach himself is the quintessence of all music‹. In the last lecture concert of the series ›Bach at four‹, the versatile Cellist David Melkonyan leads us through two of those instrumental key pieces and their genesis in the workshop of the eccentric, genius sound architect Bach.
