Haydn-Festival

Concerto … con passione

Anna Torge (Mandolin)
Concerto Köln
Markus Hoffmann, (Violin and Conductor)

As an important companion of the Brühler Schlosskonzerte, Concerto Köln stands for the drive and inspiration springing from musical friendship. It’s a great joy that as artists-in-residence the ensemble appears three times during the Haydn-Festival in its jubilee season. Included in the first concert is a charming instrument whose magic unfolds when given room: the mandolin. It will be played by the great Anna Torge, whose charisma has contributed much to the rebirth of her instrument. A real discovery are the mandolin concerts of the Haydn-contemporaries Johann Kauchlitz and Giovanni Hoffmann, which are mirrored by the exceptional treasures from the rich well of the Haydn symphonies.

Symphony in D minor, Hob. I:34
